Company Retreat Weekend

“Now Joey & Jenny this Company retreat weekend, is very important to us as family and I need to make a good impression with the Boss, So the two of you must be on your best behavior.” Sara said to her kids at dinner Friday evening

“But why do we have to go to this stupid retreat?”
“Joey it’s not stupid, it is an annual office bonding time for all employees and their families to have fun and try to bond together as one big family during the long weekend”

“What’s the point of a 3 day weekend mom?”
“The Point is Joey, I am the only new hire at the company this year and I have heard great stories about all the other retreats they have had in the past and I don’t want to be the odd one out”

“Mom, are they’re going to be other kids our age there?” Jenny asked
“Jenny, I believe many of coworkers have kids, while I don’t know their exact ages, Marie has three children somewhere between 7 and 14, Ken has twin boys about ten I think, Julie has a girl and boy, one 9 and the other 11,
Karen in accounting has 4 kids however 2 are in college and the other 2 are about your age Joey, they might be boys, They could be a few older kids, and then finally for sure you know Helen Wilson’s daughter Wendy, I found out last week she goes to your middle school too. Do you know her?”

“Not Wicked Wendy Wilson From history class?” Joey

“kids, all the kids should be easy to get along with cause they are in the same boat as you, My Boss has asked that no Cellphones are allowed for the weekend,”

“I need to text my friends from school” Jenny added

“Guys, Helen needs everyone to be focused on the work family this weekend, We can’t even take our own cars, she is going to have a big bus for us early in the morning”

“What time are we leaving?” Jenny asked

“We have to be at the office parking lot at 5:00 AM tomorrow morning for the trip”
“5 AM Why” both kids said in unison
“Yes 5 AM, The weekend retreat is out in a private family camp up state, we need 3 hours to get there, so we need to leave early, that means up at 4 AM”
“4 AM?!” both kids groaned
“Yes 4 AM, you heard me guys, and we are leaving no later than 4:30 AM so Make sure you pack your backpacks tonight with 3 pairs of shorts/pants shirts a sweat shirts socks and underwear along with your bathing suits I will pack the family toothbrushes and beauty aids”

“But mom that wicked early” Joey added

“All you have to do is get up early and make it to the bus and you can go back to sleep for while on the bus till we get there if you want”

“Okay, Mom” Joey said.

“And Jenny & Joey, I am not sure how the sleeping arrangement are going to be so we might have to share a room as a family no fussing”

“Mom, that’s okay with me, I don’t mind sleeping with you as long as Joey doesn’t snore to loud” Jenny said

“Whatever” Joey said finishing his dinner.

“that’s enough you two, as I said you have to get along and behave, especially this weekend. Now since you both finished your dinners, go ahead and start packing your backpacks while I finish washing up the dinner dishes. I want you both to a good job in your shower’s tonight as well, also you both should be in bed by 9,”

“But mom, it’s Friday night?”

“As I told you, we have an early start in the morning, now get moving get started packing”

“Okay mom” Joey replied
“Yes Mom,” Jenny said as she placed her dish and silverware in the sink and then headed up stairs.

Joey just got up and headed out of the kitchen and went to the living room and flipped the TV on. He flipped through the channels and found nothing really on to watch.
 Sara decided let him go without bussing his dishes to the sink, she knew this weekend will be rough on him, Sara heard the shower in the hallway bathroom come on as Jenny started her shower.
Sara finished the dishes went to her room and pulled out her own clothes from the drawers for the weekend retreat getaway. Sara got her clothes packed now she started to gather the towels for the family bag, she crossed the hall and opened the door to the bathroom and the room was a little steamy,” Hi It’s only me Honey” Sara said as she closed the door behind her as she had too because the linen closet was behind the door, the glass shower door was clear and she noted how her daughter’s body was growing, Jenny’s was just starting to reach puberty, at 11 her height has increased to almost 5 feet and while still knees and elbows, the young girls areolas were expanding and breast were just beginning to bud. Sara placed them on the bed in two piles then She got some socks out too. Sara found some tank tops, and some tee shirt tops, shorts and a jean skirt. She also found some pajamas and sleep pants for her daughters bag but she thought about what her coworkers said about the other company family retreats and she put the pajamas sets back in the drawer and she found Jenny’s nighties from last summer in the drawer she grabbed them,
Jenny came out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel and walked into her bedroom and closed the door and dropped the towel and hopped on the bed almost causing the piles to tip over.
“I like the tops you pick out for me mom”
“Thanks I want my girl to look pretty this weekend”
“I am always pretty Mom” Jenny said as she reached to her bedside table and grabbed her brush and started brushing her own hair.

“Why are my nighties on the bed mom?”

“Well the camp may not have air conditioning and it might get hot at night to wear the other pajamas,”

“Why don’t you wear this one tonight Jenny” Sara handed her daughter the nightie that was pink with the words ‘Work in Progress’

That’s why she needs the promotion to help make ends meet.

Helen Sara’s boss told her that it was for the better that Mark was out of their lives and she needs to take control of her children’s upbringing and start believing that Males turn to jerks because they have been raised wrong by parents not being stricter on boys and not give them choices till they get older,

Since the kids started school they seemed to tend to stay dressed most of the time, Sara didn’t have an opinion on this but started thinking about her kids and distant they are from each other, maybe she could use some help.

Helen showed her photo albums of the previous company family retreats,
