Delayed

A 14 year old boy has yet to start puberty and his worried mother takes him to the Doctor.

Little Johnny Travers was a happy carefree boy who lived with his mother and sister in the countryside in a small town. The kids up bringing was normal and though they had the usual arguments the siblings were close. Johnny was just 14 whilst sister Jessica was 12 and a half. Their single mum worked in a junior school, so they were able to spend family time during the school holidays.

There was only one problem. Johnny at 14 still hadn’t started puberty and was beginning to feel anxious about it. At school in the small class of just 20 (9 boys and 11 girls) he was the only boy who hadn’t started and some of the others had begun to make fun of him. In the showers after games it was very clear who was still the little boy.

At home Mrs. Travers had always bathed her children together but she now faced a dilemma. Whilst Johnny was still a boy, her daughter was beginning to bloom into a young woman with the first period and growth of her breasts. It was no longer appropriate for Johnny to see his sister naked.

She smiled it was funny how he was still a boy at 14 and she was already developing at 12. His hair clean, their mother got him to stand up allowing Jessica to fully look at her older brother.

She led him over to a pair of scales in the corner of the room. The boy looked upset and not at all happy, but that was probably to do with the fact that he was completely naked.

"Come along Peter let’s get you weighed and measured " said the nurse in a singsong voice, " that’s a good boy, hands by your side please, no need for little boys to be modest." The nurse and the boy returned into the Doctors room leaving Johnny open mouthed as his mother sat there smiling.

" So, I think we better start with an examination of Johnny Mrs. Travers to ensure everything is fine, and then we can determine if we need to do anything to intervene to hurry things along. There are a number of possible courses of action but in the main it is usually best to let nature take its own course."

She turned to Johnny, "now Johnny. I need to examine you before I can decide if we need to do anything. So, I would like you to get undressed please. "

Jonny, who had realised this could happen having seen the other boy, knew it was pointless arguing did as he was told, hesitating once he was down to his underpants.

"Come on Jonny," his mother chided, " Dr Walker hasn’t got all day."

We can also measure penis size when erect, as small increases pre-puberty are good signs too. "

There were some giggles as he emerged naked and erect. Sitting outside with their mothers were Julie and Paul Statham, brother and sister and Tara. Both the girls were in his class and Paul was in the year below him.

"So, Johnny you are now 14 years and 2 months old and there are no signs of puberty yet. But don’t despair please. Now we have the baseline measurements we can track your growth. I want you to put on some weight which will help. I want to see you every 2 months to track progress. If we see no change in 4 months’ time we can think about medical interventions. "

“Now Jonny do you know what your erection is for?”

Note from the author: I suffered from delayed puberty and did experience a trip to the Doctors where I ended up naked in front of my mother, the doctor and a nurse, but most of this story is fiction.
