Part 5

After the fun and enjoyment of her birthday party, Caroline thought she would like to have another pool party but this time with a few more boys. Wouldn’t it be great to have 3 or 4 boys all on show in the pool, she thought to herself. That way she and her girlfriends could compare Jamie with the other boys. She started planning and thinking of how she could trick the boys into swimming naked.
She gathered the girls round one evening and in the privacy of her bedroom outlined her idea. All the girls were really keen and all said they would definitely come along. What fun it would be.

It was the fact that Jamie had come along without a costume last time that led them to him swimming naked. That wouldn’t work this time so they would have to think of another plan…..

Caroline broached the idea to her mum and said all the girls really enjoyed the birthday party and they’d like to do it again and wouldn’t it be good to invite Jamie along too as well as some other boys. There would be 4 girls and 4 boys. Katie, Jenny and Sasha again with Caroline and they invited Jamie, Billy, Daniel and Toby.

The day of the party arrived and it was glorious sunny and the forecast of the afternoon was the high 20s. At 2pm each of the girls started arriving with their boy. Caroline called everyone together and introductions were made and she then suggested some party games to break the ice.

They played some old party games from when they were kids and soon everyone was laughing and joking with each other. It was getting hotter and by this stage all the boys had got rid of their t shirts
“Half way there” thought Caroline.

A table with cold drinks sat in the shade and the kids took plenty of refreshment. The pool stood over in the far side of the garden invitingly glinting in the sunshine.

“What about some games of girls v boys” suggested Sasha as planned by the girls.
“Yeah why not” said Billy, “I’m sure we can beat the girls can’t we lads” full of bravado the boys all nodded in agreement
“Ok” said Caroline, “ we choose the game seeing as you are so confident but the losing team has to do a forfeit, ok?”
“Fine by us”, said Billy, “As we wont be losing.” The boys all laughed and the girls pretended to be cross. Little did the boys know that the 3 games the girls had arranged to play, had been practised by them so they were extremely confident that they would not lose.

First game involved each team lining one behind the other and passing a ball down the line without letting it drop on the ground. Each time the ball was dropped you had to start again. First to get it down and back up the line would win. The game was soon over, the girls performed it expertly whilst the boys dropped it a number of times.

The second game involved a wheelbarrow race which the boys won easily as planned by the girls. Now for the decider but the boys didn’t know the odds were stacked against them.

The final game involved a timed race round an obstacle course which included fences to jump over, a bar to limbo under and a narrow beam to walk along. All in all there were 7 obstacles. Each team member would go one after the other, and the final time would be added to by penalties incurred by extra goes on each obstacle.

The boys went first and they were raring to show off their fast speed and prowess. But as the girls knew speed doesn’t always mean accuracy Toby fell off the beam and Jamie knocked over a fence whilst Daniel had to do the jumping through the hoops three times before he got it right. Last to go was Billy who did not learn from the other boys rushed headlong into the course. He was doing ok until he got to the final two obstacles the beam and the limbo pole. He fell from the beam and had to do it again and then as he approached the limbo bar he realised he was too big. He was the tallest of all the children and was not very flexible as although he was strong he was quite podgy with it. He couldn’t do the limbo and the boys groaned, after 3 attempts he was allowed to move on and finish the course. The boys had incurred a lot of penalties. And they realised that the girls if they took their time and did the curse carefully they could win.

The girls did indeed just that and whilst were much slower incurred only 2 penalties and thus won easily. They whooped and shouted with joy their plan was almost complete.

But what would the forfeit be. Jamie stood quietly as he had guessed quite correctly what they would demand. He wasn’t worried; in fact he was quite looking forward to it.

At this point Joan came out with fresh drinks and an ice bucket and soon as all the kids were downing glasses of cold squash as they relaxed after their exertions.

“I’m sure you must all be ready for the pool now after all that running and jumping “said Joan

A chorus of approval greeted the suggestion.

“But first” shouted Caroline, “the boys must be told their forfeit” “yeah” cried the girls, the boys looked worried.

Carline explained to their mum the agreement
“What do you have in mind?” she asked

“Well boys we think your forfeit must be to go swimming naked”, said Caroline, the others whooped and cheered at such a suggestion as if it was the first time they heard it.

The boys except Jamie looked astonished and Billy shouted “no bloody way!”

Joan looked across at Billy and with her school teacher voice said sternly, “I will not have you swearing young man. “
“Sorry” he said looking down
“You boys agreed to the forfeit before the start of the games and I’m sure if you had won you would have expected the girls to comply with whatever you had thought of. I suggest you boys take off those shorts, and go enjoy yourselves in the pool.”
The boys stood there disbelieving
“Now” Joan said.
