Chapter 5

The bus left the city and headed out across some rolling farm land. Brad had never been to the ranch and wasn't sure how long it would take to get there, but he wasn't in any hurry. After a ride that was a lot shorter than he expected, no more than half an hour, he caught a glimpse of a long gray wall topped with barbed wire. The bus pulled up in front and the man got up and undid the seat belt on Brad and told the boy in the other row to take his belt off. Yelling at them the entire way, the man directed them through a guarded gate and into a drab building inside the wall.

Most of the staff here were women in their forties, and the sight of a naked thirteen year old boy was a first for them, causing a lot of staring and chatter that made Brad nervous, but he could feel his dick begin to rise slightly. He listened as the other boy was processed in ahead of him. His name was Steve Marks, and he was fifteen. He had been arrested for curfew violation and truancy, and these were not his first offenses. "Yes ma'am, thank you ma'am" he said as she gave him a green sheet with "JD 119" on it. He and Steve were directed to stand in front the door ahead of them until it opened and then step inside.

He let Steve lead, and they waited for a few seconds before they heard a buzzing noise and the door opened. Inside were three men, all of whom were dressed in brown uniform shirts and black pants with sharp creases on the edges. One of the men, who was even larger than the man on the bus, got right in Steve's face and shouted "I'm Sergeant Banks, and I have the privilege of giving you the grand tour. Who are you?"

"I'm Steve Marks, Sergeant Banks."

"NO YOU'RE NOT! You are JD 118. In here you don't have a name. To everyone at all times you are JD 118. Nothing else. Got that?"

Without waiting for an answer he asked the same question to Brad.

Feeling like he was ready to cry, Brad tried to sound braver than he really was. "I'm JD 119 Sergeant."

"What do you suppose the JD stands for?" he asked, still shouting.

"Juvenile Delinquent" Steve said, sounding just as scared as Brad.

"Very good JD 118, remember that."

"Once you two entered that door, you became mine. I don't care about your sentence, I don't care what some judge says; all that I care about is how you spend your time here. You do NOT pass through that door until I say you can."

"While you are here, you will obey every command given to you by any staff member here. You will address us by our last names, and you will always use SIR." He lowered his voice for just a second. "Learn our names boys, and don't forget them."

He turned suddenly to Brad and yelled "Who am I?"

"You are Mr. Banks, sir" Brad said softly.

"You WILL learn to speak like you are proud while you are here. I'll be watching and listening, and when someone out there in the real world thinks its time for you to leave; I'll be the one who decides whether or not you pass that door.

"This is Mr. Klien. He will escort you to the next part of your miserable lives" he said, pointing to one of the other men who had been standing by.

"Both of you! Turn around and enter the door to your left in the hallway. MOVE!"

The boys entered the door he had indicated, finding themselves in a locker room.

"Strip naked" he shouted at Steve, and then freed one of Brad's hands.

"Mr. Klien, sir, I think "

"I didn't tell you to speak" he shouted, his nose bumping into Brad's nose. "You will NOT touch your self. You do NOT want to find out what happens to you in here if you violate that rule. IS THAT CLEAR JD 119?"

"Yes Sir Mr. Klien" Brad yelled back.

He finished releasing the mesh jumper Brad had been wearing and tossed two carboard boxes on the floor. "Put your clothes in the box with your name on top of them" he shouted.

While Steve folded his clothes and put them in the box, Brad did the same with the only thing he had. He put the green paper on top.

When they were both done, Mr. Klien said "Unless you are in your room, your hands are in one of two places. Normally, you will lace your fingers together and press your thumbs into your chest. DO IT NOW!"

He waited until both boys had their hands positioned properly. "The other position is done when any staff member yells 'hands behind head.' You lace your fingers together with your hands behind your head and your thumbs along side your neck. HANDS BEHIND NECKS!"

He stacked the clothes in Steve's arms.

"Now, just shoes for JD 119."

"Yes sir Mr. Klien" they said again, and the first boy measured Brad's right foot. A pair of moccasins was handed to him by the second boy.

"JD 118 and JD 119, turn around, go back into the locker room and exit at the door."

"Yes Sir Mr. Klien" Steve and Brad said. This time Brad led the way. As soon as they came back into the hallway they had started in the large man put his face in front of Steve and yelled "Who am I JD 118?"

Brad could see the look of panic on Steve's face as he tried to remember.

"I know who you are JD 118, why don't you know who I am?"

"I don't know sir, I forgot."

"You sure got that right. JD 119, who am I?"

"You are Mr. Banks, sir" Brad sang out.

"JD 119, now do you know who I am?"

"You are Mr. Banks Sir" Steve called out, his voice breaking with the strain.

"You got sixty days here worm" Banks yelled. You'd better start paying attention. Stand up and get your clothes off of my floor!"

"Mr. Klien, I believe he got my floor dirty, don't you?"

"Of course he did, his clothes were all over the floor, and he hasn't washed his clothes since he's been here. Sixty days, you say? I'll bet he's crying for his mommy before lights out tonight. He'll never find his way out of here in just 60 days. Why don't you take 119 to PT and see what he's made of and I'll supervise this piece of crap while he cleans your floor."

"HANDS 119! You will NOT get another warning!" Brad quickly folded his hands on his chest. As soon as he did he was directed to a large gymnasium where thirty other boys were doing sit-ups while five guards wandered around yelling at anyone who slacked off. Banks had him stand with his arms behind his neck until one of the guards blew a whistle.

This is JD 119. You will NOT touch JD 119. Anyone who touches him will earn a minimum of 3 days solitary with a chance for a lot more. Keep that in mind."

Banks joined the guards who were monitoring the workout. Brad had thought he was in shape, but after an hour he was very near to collapse and they had just been ordered to run in place. He nearly fell over, trying to catch his breath as Banks came over and said without shouting "Hands chest, and just stand in place. You're strong enough to do that."

Brad did as he was ordered and watched the rest of the boys. He noticed a few other boys who were also standing with their hands folded on their chests. As he stood there the guards were keeping watch on the boys and had a few more stand in place. As Brad watched, one of the boys who had been standing rejoined those who were exercising and Brad decided to start again as well since he had caught his breath by then.

"That's good, you're trying. We reward that around here." "Just two more minutes, then showers. Try to pick up the pace some if you can." It suddenly sounded much better to have someone speaking to him instead of shouting at him.

The guards kept a close watch on everyone during showers. One guard, using a watch, called out a warning and then the water was shut off. Everyone put their hands together and Brad followed their example as they left, picking up a towel in the locker room.

All Brad could do was stand there while they dressed. He could see many of the boys looking at him, and sensed that they wanted to ask him questions, but no one spoke. As soon as the last one was dressed they were led down the hall to a cafeteria.

Steve was standing there at attention except for his hands which were laced behind his neck. He was still naked. Brad was pulled out of line to stand next to him.

"JD 25, tell the newbies the rules" yelled Klein.

One of the boys in line quickly recited them. The rules were simple: eat what you were given; remain silent while eating, and trays and plastic spoons and forks had to be accounted for before anyone left the room.

Brad was told to get back in line, but Steve remained where he was. The line snaked right past him, and boys made quiet comments about his body as they passed; some even grabbed him. "Get in there and get dressed, then bring your property pass out here to the hall. You have two minutes" a guard shouted at him. He entered the room where the box was with his mesh jumper and hurried into it, terrified of being late. He grabbed the green paper with JD 119 on it and came back out to the hallway.

Once there, he was verbally abused for a few minutes by the collection of guards who were standing around until Mr. Banks came up.

"There's a bus waiting for you to take you back to school" was all he said. Brad wasn't sure what to do. "You do want to go back, don't you? Or would you rather stay here? Maybe you and JD 118 could share a bed."

Brad took a step towards the door. "WHERE IN THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING?" Banks shouted. "What were you told when you came in here?"

Not sure what was happening, Brad felt a tear run down his cheek.

"A cry-baby! That's all you are, just a little spoiled crybaby. Maybe we should take you back and let you cry for all the other juvies here, would you like that?"

"No Mr. Banks, I would not like that" Brad said, trying to not cry any more.

Do you want to go home to your mommie?"

"Yes sir, Mr. Banks, I want to go home."

"Then why are you still here?"

Suddenly Brad thought he understood. "Please Mr. Banks, may I go home?"

"I thought you were too stupid to ask" he said. "Normally when a boy leaves here I have a long speech about not coming back. But I'll save it until you are assigned here for longer than just a morning. Always remember that as an inmate here you won't have as much fun as you did today."

Brad wasn't sure how to take that, but he said "Yes sir, Mr. Banks, thank you."

After a few moments the door opened and Brad quickly stepped through. The man who was on the bus that morning was waiting for him and escorted him to the bus. He was put in the seat Steve had sat in and was told to only look at the back of the driver's seat. Brad was actually happy when they got to his school.

One of the members of the SRRB was waiting for him and escorted him to his science class. Brad asked her if she knew where his brother was or if he could call home, but she said her instructions were to take him straight to class. When he got there, he asked his teacher the same questions.

"Bri-Bri was crying like a little baby and had to go home to Mommie" a boy in his class said. "Yeah, I think he wet himself too" said another one, laughing out loud.

"Brad Weslo! Go and sit down this minute!" the teacher shouted.

"They shouldn't be allowed to talk about my brother like that" Brad said to the teacher.

"And whose job is it to correct that situation?"

Brad finally got himself back under control. "I'm sorry sir. It's your job to take care of problems, not mine."

"Go sit down for now, we'll deal with this later."

"Doesn't he owe us an apology too?" the boy who started it asked.

"Carl, you and Adam are in more trouble than you can imagine. Don't push it any further" the teacher said.

"But the rules he's supposed to call everyone sir and say "

"I know the rules perfectly well Carl. I've excused him for now and told him I will handle it later; just as I will handle this incident that you and Adam created."

Brad went to his seat and found that Brian had left his pegged seat for him on his desk. Still angry, he pushed it down to the seat on the desk and sat down on it without hesitation. His teacher had returned to the front of the room and said "Let me warn all of you the people who are put into the program are not to be subjected to the type of behavior just exhibited by two members of this class. He paused for a minute, and then continued. "Brad's bus was a little late in returning, so we are running behind schedule. I'm going to call the first team up, but I warn each of you not to overstep the limits placed on you."

"Carl Dibly, George Popel, Adam Gomer, Scott McBride, and Carlos Diaz, we'll start with your project. You guys are now team 1. Brad, if you would, please come up front and lean over my desk."

Brad did as he was told while the five boys started setting up equipment. Carl, one of the boys who had made fun of Brian a moment ago, explained the project.

"We want to see if we can measure the effects of a spanking and determine what causes the most pain but with little or no bruising. Since Weslo here gets spanked every few hours anyway, he'll be our main source, but we also will have two elementary kids here tomorrow to see age effects. We think we can measure tissue damage by use of thermography which measures the surface temperature of the skin. "Oh yeah, I forgot. We have permission to use Pete Baker as a control. If we could have him come up here and lean over the desk next to Brad."

A very embarrassed Pete joined him and Adam moved the camera device. "His butt is 92.4 degrees, but that's probably because he's been sitting on it." The class laughed.

"Okay, now let's get started. Carl, let us know if he starts to cry. And Scott and Carlos will record BP and heart rate."

Carl leaned over the desk from the other side and looked into Brad's face. "If Adam and me get into trouble just because we teased your little baby brother, we're going to destroy your ass tomorrow" he said, just loud enough that only Brad could hear him.

The spanking was done just like the one Brad had received that morning, except that the boys could hit a lot harder than the girls did. "We actually started this morning with Crystal and Sandra. We sprayed both of them this morning and today we want to spray Crystal a second time. And before anyone asks, yes, we have permission to view the results even when the girls are done with DANIP until the hair begins to re-grow."

Crystal came forward and the boys on the team sprayed her groin and underarms.

"If Pete and Brad could come up here now" the boy said, waiting until they were both in front of the class again. "Since the girls will be sprayed for one day, Pete will be testing the product for two days on his right side and three days on his left. Brad will use it for four days on the right side and at least five on the left. We will go longer only if he is still in DANIP and only if we don't have any conclusive results."

This time girls did the spraying, but they did underarms, chest, groin, and legs on each boy.

"Pete, you're hair will start falling out in about an hour. You should shower tonight to wash it all off." The speaker looked at the teacher and said "That's all our team has for today."

The next team had four girls on it, including Dean Apply's sister Deloris. Deloris said "We want to see the effect that depriving boys of being able to masturbate has on them. "Okay, we'll go as far as we can. The next session takes place in the science lab, so let's got there and let Team five set up and tell us what they are doing.

The class would normally have moaned, or asked for a break, or taken their time going across the hall to the lab, but the classes so far had been very interesting and many member of the class knew what team five was doing. As a result, the class was in place and ready for the team in record time.

"Our project is biology" the boy began as the rest of his team hurried to set up equipment. "We want to show you what goes on inside us. In order to be able to do this, Dr. McCoy is here to help us." A man in his late fifty's stood up and bowed his head. "So that we can handle the equipment, he made us practice on each other, so we know how this feels."

Brad told the secretary that he had been sent to see the principal, and she said "Oh, good, she was out by the buses watching for you. She wanted to see you anyway." The secretary called on a radio, and the principal came back in. She got there just as Brad's science teacher came out of the vice principal's office and met her.

"Go wait in my office for me Brad, I'll be right in" she said.

When she came in she took a seat behind her desk and said "Let me start off with saying I'm sorry to you. There was a terrible misunderstanding this morning. I believed the judge, who had authorized your morning visit to Bakersfield Boys Ranch, had notified your parents. It is common for someone in DANIP to not know what is going on, so it didn't bother me that you didn't know what was going on, and I guess I figured that nobody had told Brian either. But the fact is, your parents didn't know about it, and that caused a lot of distress to them and especially to Brian. I excused Brian from school today because he was so upset, and I will apologize to him as well. The court and this school learned a lesson at your expense today, and we've already made a change. From now on, a legal guardian must sign an acknowledgement that they were notified before any child in DANIP is sent to the BBR."

"Now that was an error on my part. You were only sentenced to go just one morning to the BBR in order to give you a chance to see how life is there. But now I hear that you threatened two boys in your class today, is that true?"

Brad could feel the anger rising up again, and took a few seconds to control it before answering. "Yes, ma'am, it is true. But they called Brian a baby for crying and all he was trying to do was protect me."

"That does not excuse your behavior Brad. I'm not sure this program is getting through to you. You've gone from being Brian's worst bully to wanting to beat up boys who tease him. That really isn't much of an improvement. And it won't take much at this point to have you sentenced to the BBR instead of DANIP. Is that what you want?"

Brad felt like crying. "No, ma'am, I guess not. But, you saw how upset Brian was, and he had good reason to be upset. I was scared too. It just burned me to hear them call him names like that."

"You know, as principal of this school, I am very capable of handing problems like that. And I'm going to handle it. Carl Dibley and Adam Gomer are going to be punished and quite severely in my opinion. But that is my duty, and no matter how much it 'burns' you to hear them, you do not have permission to do anything except tell me or a teacher."

She watched his head sink down on to his chest. "I am going to send you back to the BBR tomorrow for a second day and I'm adding 8 hours to your sentence. I could give you a whole day, but I'll accept that you acted out of love for your brother instead of meanness this time. But do not let there be any more reasons for me to have to correct you for taking it upon yourself to punish offenders at this school."

"Yes ma'am" Brad barely whispered; then he remembered and added "Thank you ma'am." He realized he didn't need now to worry about the Friday SRRB his sentence now wasn't going to be ended until ten that night.

"Your mother is picking you up in a few minutes. I need to discuss this with her and get her to sign the acknowledgement sheet, so when she gets here have the secretary call me and I won't keep her waiting. For now, you have a seat outside while I deal with Adam and Carl."

Brad actually felt relieved; he thought he was going to get a whole lot worse. Of course, there was still the chance that Brian would be pissed at him and add to his punishment too. But he could deal with that. He plopped his peg seat onto a chair and lowered himself down over it. The vice principal brought Adam and Carl in and closed the door and the blinds.

They were still in there when Brian and his mother showed up. Brian asked him what happened while their mother talked with the principal.

"You idiot, what's the matter with you" Brian said when Brad told him what happened. "So what did the principal do?"

"I got another 8 hours added to my sentence" Brad said. This time he did begin to cry without even understanding why.

"You got lucky; I hope you know that. I'm going to have you put a bigger peg in your seat tonight. You know, I don't need you to defend me; I can handle stuff like that. Besides, they were right, I was acting like a little boy."

"You know what the worst part of it is?" Brad asked. "I could hear your voice inside my head trying to stop me, but I just ignored it."

That evening Brad invited his best friend Kevin over, and Sam from next door. Between them and his brother he was able to complete the expected number of blow jobs for a school day.
