Shortly after his father's death, almost thirteen year old David moves with his mother into another family's home. The home of a single father of five with whom David's mother has been carrying on an affair for many years. David has much trouble adapting to his new family and to the rules of his new "stepfather." The result is frequent daily punishments, embarrassments and humiliations for David, all with the concurrence and approval of his mother. Every day, every hour, things just keep getting worst and worst for young David, much to the amusement and enjoyment of his new siblings.
