   On the morning of Thursday October thirtieth Blair Ashcroft met with his
campaign staff as election day was only a few days away.The race for state
governor had reached a"Fever pitch"as Governor Jordan Hamilton and her
Challenger Blair Ashcroft were now in a dead heat in the polls.As Blair
Ashcroft sat in his chair in the glass enclosed meeting room at campaign
head quarters in the city of St.Lawrence."Blair,the next five days are
going to be a roller coaster ride."Blair Ashcroft's campaign manager
said."Yes it will Steve and I'm counting one every one to give me their one
hundred and ten percent."Blair said to his staff."After our rally down at
St.Lawernce State University we will win over the undecided voters."Blair
Ashcroft said smelling victory in the air.Just then a young female campaign
staffer entered the meeting room."Um,you'ed better turn on the news."Said
the bespectacled young woman.

   "For those of you just joining us,former Garland County District
Attorney Ralph Radisson was found dead in his cell this morning."The
newscast then went to a live report from the sate prison.As the dumb blond
reporter spoke about Ralph Radisson's rise to power and fall from grace as
district attorney the special report showed pictures of Ralph Radisson
together."Radisson had spent the last two years behind bars for child rape,
we'll have more as this breaking story develops."As the blond reporter
spoke with the news anchors Blair Ashcroft and his staff were quiet as the
they followed the breaking news."We can spin this Blair."The campaign
manager said to Blair."Steve,do we have time?"Blair Ashcroft asked his
friend.

   By the end of the day the death of Ralph Radisson dominated talk radio
and social media in the state.Voters wanted to know how well Blair Ashcroft
knew Ralph Radisson.Blair Ashcroft spent the day fielding questions from
the press and the public,Ashcroft gave the standard"I really did't know him
that well."Statement.

   Friday morning Blair Ashcroft's staff met and as they"Circled the
wagons"as many voters were rethinking their choice for governor.Dressed in
a orange blazer and black slacks,the colors of Halloween Meredith Ashcroft
stood next to her husband while the press covered Blair Ashcroft's every
move.As Blair Ashcroft spoke about"Going for broke"in the last four days of
the campaign something happened,every one stopped working as a new story
broke.

   Sometime during the night the girlfriend of one of Blair Ashcroft's body
guards leaked pictures of the body guard and Meredith having sex to a
Hollywood celebrity web site.Blair and Meredith Ashcroft went into the
meeting room as the phones rang of the hook.As the Ashcroft's had their
"Private talk"one could sense the impending doom of Blair Ashcroft's race
for state governor.Blair Ashcroft picked up an office chair and threw it
through a glass pane of the meeting room.CRASH!was the sound of the chair
going through the glass."You fucking bitch!  How could you do this to me?"
Blair Ashcroft asked his cheating wife.Two staffers then took Mrs.Ashcroft
out of the building,Blair Ashcroft said nothing as he looked hard at his
body guard.The tension in the air was so thick you could cut it with a
knife.

   During the rest of the day Blair Ashcroft's supporters changed their
minds, many said they would vote for third party candidate Robert Wilson
while others said they'd vote for Jordan Hamilton.As parents took their
children trick or treating throughout the state that Friday evening many
thought about what shape our state would be in.
