Launch Week for Kate & Rosa, Part 2

Chapter 3 – Foursome Reunited

We collapse together, allowing the closeness of each other to spoil us, having missed each other so much in recent weeks. We hear voices outside, and wonder who else has arrived, so we dress and sheepishly open the door to find both Emily and Caitlin sitting and watching TV. They jump up to come over to hug us and kiss, and explain they thought we were maybe having some private time, going by the sign on the door handle, and also by some of the noises we were making. I explain that we have remained close since that weekend at Byron Bay, and told the girls about my visit to Sydney in January, and about our plans if all went well. They were both pleased for us, and our excited chatter continued, until interrupted by a knock at the door.

Emily went to see who it was, and a hotel employee, dressed in suit and tie handed her a thick envelope. Emily brought it over to us and opened it, spilling out several sheets of paper on to the coffee table. There was a welcome letter from the hotel, thanking us for choosing their establishment, given the publicity we were about to receive as individuals, and as a group. Next was a pack of papers from the organisers, with a schedule covering Saturday through to the following Thursday. We were going to be very busy indeed, but we saw there were allowances for some leisure time, and with 3 of us not from Sydney they had taken the liberty to organise a harbour cruise, a bridge climb, a visit to Taronga Zoo and a visit to Luna Park.

Another knock on the door, and in came room service with a plate of little gourmet sandwiches, another of pita wraps, a platter of fruit, and two jugs of juices. Looks like lunch is served, so we all sat up at the dining table and ate from the selection offered. All very nice – aren't we spoiled?

After lunch, we note that we are set to be collected at 2pm to go to Luna Park, so we busily unpack our clothes and toiletries, and change in to suitable clothes. If I'm going on rides and twirling about, its in cutoff jeans and not a dress or a skirt, thank you. There's a car waiting for us when we go downstairs, along with out tickets to Luna Park, and a note about reservations at a restaurant called "The Deck" right at the entrance of Luna Park. A quick zip over the Sydney Harbour Bridge and we're at Milson's Point, home to Luna Park. Our tickets are redeemed for wristbands, and these entitle us to unlimited rides and entry in the park.

We stick together, mostly, with only the odd person opting out of some rides. We do the enormous ferris wheel (my favourite as I got to pash with Rosa just about the whole way round), the Mad Mouse roller coaster, Coney Island, and just about every other ride. Being a Friday, the queues are minimal, so its full-on action the whole afternoon. By 6pm we are getting tired, and its not long till out dinner reservations, so we head back towards the entrance of the park to find the place we'll be eating at.

Waiting outside the restaurant are some of the organisers from the Byron Bay weekend, and I recognise them immediately. Some of them were there for the Private Shoot even. We are greeted, and they want to know all about our travel, the hotel, and whether we've enjoyed the afternoon. We go over all this once we are seated. The views are perfect – right against a window facing directly back towards the city, bridge to our left, Darling Harbour to the right. What a location!

We are given an overview of what lies ahead by Paul, one of the organisers, as the food is served. He allows us questions, so we all get a good feel for the week. Paul mentions that tomorrow we are due to appear on Weekend Sunrise, a morning TV show. We're to be picked up at our hotel at 6am, and once at the studios we go straight in to makeup before our scheduled on-air 8.15 slot. Paul and one of his assistants Mya will be on-air with us to handle most of the questions, but each of us will need to talk at some point about our involvement in the Miss Victoria's Secret campaign, due to hit the airwaves on Sunday night during prime-time TV. City billboards are also being posted over the weekend, and there are 4 buses being "skinned" with our advertisment.

Dinner finishes early, as we have such an early start tomorrow, so we say goodnight and agree we'll see Paul and Mya in the morning at the studios. Our car is waiting to whisk us back over the bridge to our hotel, and 10 minutes later we are walking in the door to our suite. There's a note under our door from the hotel, telling us that our kitchen has been fully stocked ready for breakfast, so we can just help ourselves to cereal, fruits, toast etc....

Rosa says goodnight to Caitlin and Emily, and I do as well, watching them head to their separate rooms, a hug shared on the way. Rosa heads to her room, and I to mine to strip and put a light gown on, before joining her. She's already under the sheet, grinning widely, so I just slip the gown off and slide in beside her and we sort of melt together, arms and legs and lips entwined. Lights off, and we just cuddle and chatter – our first night back together ......... and I'm so happy to be holding my girl.

We make love ..... slowly and lovingly ........ and its so good. The only thing working against us is the clock, and we have to be up in 6 hours so we agree to get some sleep, and make up for it over the rest of the week. Just as we are nodding off I hear a muffled cry of excitement, and my final thoughts for the day involve the question of who, who with maybe?
