School Spirit, Chapter Two

by MAS101662

Debbie and I chatted all night as she told me all about her life...and her death and her life after death. How she had continued to attend school and followed a few of the people she felt a bond with, to learn what could not be taught in class.

"I learned a lot more about life after I died," she said as she sat next to me on my bed.

I had managed to get dressed in my slinky pink teddy that I always loved to sleep in. Debbie had made her clothes transform into a matching, but much smaller version, of my teddy, complete with matching panties.

"And how did you learn to do those things you did to me in the tub?" I asked.

She giggled and blushed. I never knew a ghost...spirit...could blush.

"First, by watching the girls in the showers at school. Then by exploring some of the others that had lived here before you."

"Others lived here before me? Since your death?" I gasped.

"Yes, Lyndy. A couple of times people have lived in my home after I died. But I did them no harm. I swear," Debbie replied, making the sign of a Girl Scout.

"Why did they leave?" I asked.

"Different reasons," was her answer. "Not because of me. In fact, Miss. Alistair and her daughter Erin were quiet sad when the left. They were the last to live here."

A sullen look appeared on her face in remembrance of that sad day. I lightly place my left hand on her right, half expecting my hand to pass right through to touch the bed. What I felt was a very soft, surprisingly warm hand beneath my own. I took her hand into mine and looked into her eyes.

"Thank you for your gentle kindness, Lyndy. I have missed physical contact. It has been three years since Miss. Alistair...Angela... moved away."

Suddenly, Debbie noticed the clock on my nightstand and gasped.

"Good golly, Lyndy. It's three AM," she said softly. "I'm sorry to keep you up so late. You need sleep."

I knew she was right as I stood up from the bed and Debbie turned down the blankets and sheet, fluffed my pillows and took me by the hand, gently laying me down and tucking me in.

"I know this is going to sound strange, but...do you sleep?" I asked as the blankets began to warm me.

"I do require something similar to sleep. It takes a lot out of me to maintain corporeal form," Debbie replied as I noticed that I could now start to see through her.

"Why not lie with me and conserve your energy," I offered as I was about to lift the covers to allow her entry to my bed.

Debbie stopped me and drifted into the air slightly, shifting to a horizontal position and moved through the air to lower her dissipating form to 'phase' through the blankets and snuggle up next to me. Her appearance had completely faded out of existence, but I could feel her body get comfortable against me.

I had forgotten to turn out the light and started to move my arm out from under the blanker to shut the light off.

"Don't worry, Lyndy," Debbie whispered as the light went out. "I've got the light."

As we laid there, in the now darkened room, all cozy and snug, I felt Debbie pull me closer to her. If it weren't for the fact that I could no longer see due to the darkness, I could swear that Debbie was real and alive.

"I am real, though, not alive," she whispered, then gasped softly. "I did it again. I'm sorry, your thoughts should be your own."

"It's ok, Debbie," I replied as I turned and kissed her forehead, somehow knowing where it was in the dark.

We lay there in silence for what seemed like hours. Just the calming feel and sound of her breathing (was she breathing?) filled the air. A lone thought filled my mind.

"You said that you can only ascend after you've helped someone find true love," I began. "What if it is you that finds it?"

The air was still and quiet for a couple of moments as I felt Debbie shift slightly, as if in thought.

"I've never thought about it, really," was her reply. "Nobody has ever told me what would happen if I were the one to find true love."

Sleep overtook me at that point and my last thought was to try and research this later in the day.

As the dawn began to beam through the bedside window, my eyes slowly began to ease open and, for a moment, I felt alone. The previous day's events going from a wonderful dream to a vivid memory...to a clear reality as new scents began to fill the air. The scent of...

"Breakfast?" I mumbled as I sat up slowly and rubbing my weary eyes before realizing that I was not alone. Someone was cooking breakfast.

"Debbie," I smiled, knowing that I had not, in fact, been dreaming.

I arose from my bed, slipping on my house slippers and donning my robe. I headed out the door on legs that wobbled at first, but the strong smell of bacon, eggs and...hmmmm...coffee...drew me further out of the bedroom and down the stairs.

I turned the corner and into the kitchen where the most beautiful sight I had ever seen stood on a chair in front of the stove diligently working on the lovely meal that she was making for me. She was like an angel standing there in that cute mini-robe that barely covered her scantily-clad ass. Those lovely, thin, long legs with not a mark on them. The most perfect legs I have ever seen.

Without turning around, my lovely angel greeted me as she placed spoonfuls of scrambled eggs on a plate along with three strips of bacon.

"Good morning, Lyndy," she almost sang as she finally turned, reached over to the toaster and pulled out two slices of toast and placing them on the plate as well.

Seamlessly, the toast was cut diagonally as if by an unseen knife. Debbie stepped off the chair, more correctly, she floated off and softly landed on the floor, her bare feet seem to glimmer in the sunlight.

"Good morning to you also, Debbie," I beamed, inhaling the lovely breakfast she had prepared.

"I thought you might enjoy a nice breakfast to get your day started."

"You really didn't have to do this, but I thank you dearly," I replied as I leaned over to place a kiss upon her forehead, only to find my lips passing through her head.

"Oh, sorry Lyndy," she giggled. "I was not expecting that and I seem to have expended a little more energy than I expected. It was a lovely thought though."

Debbie placed the plate on the table carefully then turned to me, closing her eyes in deep concentration. Her whole body glimmered as a wave of light rippled over her from toe to head. When she opened her eyes, I noticed for the first time that they were a very bright and lovely shade of green.

"Ok, I'm ready now," she beamed, opening her slender arms out toward me with a girlish giggle.

Joining in her joyous reverie, I scooped her up in my arms and placed kisses all over her cute little face and one right on her puggish nose. She giggled more as she squirmed in my lap.

Holding her steady was a chore, not only because of her squirming, but Debbie, in her excitement, was losing her cohesion and a lot of my kisses passed through her. Before either of us knew it, Debbie had completely phased through me and the chair, ending up prone on the floor...or should I say 'in' the floor. Her upper half resting at floor level while her lower half must have been below it.

"I need to work on that," Debbie giggled as she rose out of the floor and became more solid again.

Debbie took up a seat next to me as I turned to begin enjoying the wonderful breakfast she had prepared.

"Yumm, this tastes awesome, Debbie," I cooed between bites. "Where did..," I began, but I already knew the answer so I let the question drop adding yet another bite of eggs to fill my mouth.

Debbie watched me intently as I devoured every bite, taking sips of the coffee that Debbie had set on the table using her abilities to make the coffee pot fill the cup and it floated to the table and gently sat within reach.

I noticed that Debbie seems to be fading yet again as sunlight slowly began to stream through her body. Her face seemed to show some fatigue.

"You need rest, dear," I informed her. "You've overdone it already this morning."

"I think you're right," Debbie sighed as she completely faded from view. "I am still here, but it's awfully taxing to keep up appearances."

Just then, there was a knock on the door. It caused me to almost jump out of my skin. I got up from the table and went to answer the door as Debbie, still invisible, began to tidy up the kitchen.

"Emily, what a wonderful surprise," I smiled.

"Can I come in for a visit?" Erin asked happily as she was already well on her way into the house, gently pushing passed me..

"I guess it would be ok. I do need to go get dressed," I replied nervously. "Would you mind terribly waiting in the living room while I go upstairs and change?"

That's when she finally noticed my attire and blushed.

"I...I'm sorry, Ms. Marsh," Emily stammered. "I didn't mean...I know it's early. S...sure...I'll be in here." And off she went to the living room while I rushed upstairs to change into something more presentable.

"She's cute," Debbie giggled from my bed. "I think she might be the one for you."

"What do you mean, Debbie?" I whispered, hoping Erin couldn't hear me from the living room.

"I mean, your true love," she smiled.

"But she's only ten."

"Technically, so am I. I never aged after I died. So that still makes me ten. Although, I guess as long as I've been around, I could be twenty...but that's old," she giggled again.

"Hey now, I'm only twenty-seven myself," I taunted back playfully.

Debbie appeared in physical form once again and the smile on her face was radiant.

"She's still a virgin, too!" Debbie added.
