Why is it bad for one girl to love another one?

"Because it is unnatural sweetie"

The pink haired child turned away and furrowed her eyebrows. 'Unnatural?'

Why? How? In what way? Who said so? Why is that person's word so important as to dictate other people's lives? As long they are happy and no one is hurt . . . ?

"Unnatural"

This reason proved to be both incomprehensible and unverifiable.

Why is it bad for one girl to love another?

Her father chuckled, "Because honey, a woman is made for a man and a man for a woman. A real relationship between woman and a woman is impossible.

She turned and locked herself in her room with her teal haired best friend. The pink haired child simply gazed at the dozing form of the girl in her bed. Slipping into the warmth that was the teal girl' embrace, the pink one snuggled herself deeper into her arms.

". . . impossible." In what way was it not possible? The child moved her hand to her teal friend' under the blanket. She was surprised when the teal one grasped her hand and interlaced their fingers, thinking the smaller girl was asleep. The teal girl buried her face into the pink one' crown, never had she ever felt more at peace.

". . . a woman is made for a man, and a man for a woman . . ." Then why is it possible for her hand to feel so incredibly right in the embrace of the teal one'? Why does it feel like she is truly home and whole in the embrace of her teal friend, as she is completely enveloped in the girl' scent? Why when her head is lain on the smaller' shoulder, or her face buried into her ocean of teal locks, does she feel truly safe?

" . . . a woman is made for a man and a man for a woman. A relationship between woman and a woman is impossible."

This answer proved to be inaccurate.

Why is it bad that I am in love another girl?

SMACK!

The pink haired young woman never received an answer but a strike and isolation.

Why did she deserve this treatment from the people who gave her life?

Why was it bad that the happiest moment of her life was the first time her lips met the teal girl' and the teal one returned the warm, intimate embrace?

Why was it bad that she was happy?

Twenty years old, present day.

"I love you too, Miku." the pink one whispered back to her beloved before falling into a peaceful slumber. Safe in the arms of her teal haired childhood friend and the woman she married.

The 'why's' no longer matter. They never did. Not as long as this overwhelming happiness would be at the end.
